Offices that strictly adhere to the procedures laid down as a part of waste management initiatives,and thereby avoid the use of single-use plastic-disposable items and promote the use of reusable and recyclable materials or accessories in their routine operations are declared as Green offices.

Prohibition of single-use plastic and disposable items, installation of eco-friendly containers, removal of useless furniture and e-waste, installation of organic and bio-inorganic waste segregation facilities, setting up of organic vegetable garden and traditional gardens at available spaces, greening of canteen and dining, water conservation activities, dust-free office environment , hygiene-friendly office etc. are the necessary arrangements that has to be provided in the Green office. Such offices will be declared Green Offices after a direct visit by the green office inspection committee and by the evaluation of the arrangements based on the reports submitted by the respective office authorities.
